A New Life for Laptops

This project utilized cross-disciplinary teams of students and research faculty from business, industrial design, and engineering from the University of Illinois to create entirely new or previously underexplored applications for discarded laptops and/or their components. The presentation will include discussion of the results of the project and future plans. With feedback from Dell Computer professionals, students are also exploring opportunities to continue to develop their ideas to marketable products. Results of the project will be posted on the main ISTC website and on the ISTC Sustainable Electronics Initiative website www.sustainableelectronics.illinois.edu.
