Elemental Analysis

We have a Thermo Elemental PQ ExCell ICPMS available for elemental analysis that can perform both quantitative and semi-quantitative analyses of most elements in the Periodic Table from percent levels to sub parts-per-billion levels. Elements from lithium to uranium can be measured on these units. Isotopic ratios also can be determined extremely rapidly on either unit compared to analysis by TIMS. The ExCell has cold plasma capabilities and an extra mass flow controller for organic matrices. Additionally, we have micronebulizers which allows the instrument to handle extremely small samples such as digestates and fluids from tissue specimens.

A Varian SpectrAA 55B AAS is available for several metals when part-per-million levels (or higher) are needed. The unit can be operated in an atomic emission mode for those elements most sensitive by this approach.
