Compliance Assistance

ISTC engineers assist customers with permitting and compliance requirements by providing information and assistance for:

• Preparation of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit
• Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWP3) program
• Clean Air Act (CAA) permit
• Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting requirements

ISTC assists customers with the development of:

• Emergency Contingency Plans (CP)
• Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans

Additionally, ISTC's compliance assistance includes:

• Conducting environmental compliance audits of hazardous waste generators under the Resources and Conservation Act (RCRA)
• Completing a two-day Environmental Compliance Audit

Because ISTC is a non-regulatory state agency it can further assist customers by facilitating contact and communications with various federal, state, and local environmental and regulatory agencies.
