Vinod Patel joined ISTC in 2008 and is a Chemical Engineer who is lead technical team member of three major U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) funded projects listed below.

Vinod has been working at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) since 1998. He worked at the Illinois State Geological Survey from 1998 to 2008. He has hands-on experience in applied research involving: Water Desalination and Water related Research, Membrane technology, Coal combustion byproducts utilization, Coal combustion-generated air pollutants study, Scale-up of processes from lab and bench scale research to commercial scale, Techno-economic analysis of chemical and environmental processes, and Life Cycle Assessment.

Prior to UIUC, Vinod has a broad base of industrial experience spanning more than 25 years in Process and Project Engineering, Research and Development, and Operations Management including process and project development from inception to commissioning, project procurement, manufacturing, process optimization, quality control, quality assurance, waste management, pollution control, maintenance, safety, costing, and administration.
